Congress of the United States,

My name is Steven C. Rivera and I am a tax-paying citizen of the United States, hence one of the many people paying you. I was sitting at my computer reading news and unwinding from a 9-hour day of work, when I came upon reports that advised me you planned on taking your summer recess between the dates of August 11 and September 5.

Well Congress, I'm sorry if you have made plans, but the management (i.e. the people) have denied your request for recess. The management was especially surprised with your request as you just took a week off (June 30 to July 4).

How is anything going to get done if you're on vacation all the time? Who will represent the people in your absence? Whether or not you've been even representing the people and not your own agendas sold to the people, is a subject we will discuss in a future evaluation.

Also, I've been watching your performance, on C-SPAN and C-SPAN2, and I am greatly disappointed in your lack of productivity. We, the people, were promised a solutions to issues from democrats who sold themselves well enough to gain majority control in both houses; but which of those promises has come to fruition?

In closing, please understand the management has to be firm in our decision to deny your request; please do not think of this as a punishment for a lack of productivity and proper representation. We really do believe you can produce satisfactory results, as a few members in both houses have, and we'd like to give the whole of Congress that extra opportunity to preform.

Additionally, in review of payroll records, we do expect that you start working from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., at least six-days a week, in order to receive your whole annual salary of $165,200.

Thank you,
